Reflect on the Math TAKS test you took yesterday.
How do you think you performed? What was the most difficult concept for you? Did you use any problem solving strategies (ie: guess and check, eliminating answer choices... etc.)? How much did you prepare yourself for this test? Did you study this past weekend? Is there anything you could have done differently to help you on this test?
On the math taks test I think I performed Farley well. There were a few things I did not know about for instance INTERquartile. We have learned about upper and lower quartile but interquartile is a new thing. There was about 2 or 3 problems about that. That was probably the only thing hard for me. Other than that I think I did well on the test. The past 2 nights I have been studying also. On Sunday all I did was take one of the math practices TAKS and reviewed it with my parents. The only thing that I could have done differently to help me on my math taks is go in for tutoring and ask Mrs. Ryon about the things I was still a little skeptical on. On the test I used guess and check, and eliminating answers.
ReplyDeleteI think did pretty well on the Math TAKS test yesterday. There were a few things that I didn’t understand, and I tried to work out, but in the end, I just guessed on the answer. I eliminated answer choices consistently, especially on some of the ones that just didn’t make sense to be an answer! I studied a little bit this weekend, but not much. The one thing I did go over was the box and whisker plot that we just learned. It paid off because there was one question on the TAKS about that and I knew exactly what to do! There wasn’t anything else I could do to improve how I did on the TAKS test. In the end I think I missed 2-4 questions.
ReplyDeleteI think i did very well on the math TAKS but was very tired when I took it. The most difficult concept for me wasn't really anything unless it was something I forgot. The problem solving strategies I used were just different ones on different problems. I didn't prepare myself at all for this. I didn't bring a snack or something to drink. I didn't study for this test because mrs. Ryon taught me well enough that i didnt need to. Nothing other than what i did could help me anymore on the TAKS.
ReplyDeleteI believe my performance yesterday was great! I felt totally okay throughout the whole test. There seemed to be like 5-6 questions that I think I may have missed but I will survive. I think the most difficult concept was the nth term. I had the most trouble on that and fractions. Although I used my best problem solving strategies of eliminating answers that were irrelevant. I studied a lot for the test by going through old tests and reviewing all of the old concepts on blackboard. I could have probably done things a little different by triple checking my work.
ReplyDeleteMath TAKS Test
ReplyDeleteYesterday I took the math TAKS test. I think I preformed pretty good I don’t think I got them, all right but I do think I pasted. The most difficult concept for me was the nth term. On one of the problems not one of the equations worked. I would start a problem by eliminating answer choices that I knew would not work. On a couple I did guess and check. Before the TAKS I studied a little bit not a lot but a little.
I think if I would of studied a little bit harder I might of done better the test was pretty difficult for me. If I would have done more of my homework as well I could of done a lot better I bet.
On the math TAKS I think I did ok. I probably passed, but I don’t think I will get commended. The most difficult thing on the TAKS test for me was anything with fractions. The fractions were hard because I don’t understand them as well as I should. On a couple of the problems I would just guess because I could not figure out the answer but I would usually work it out or eliminate the least possible ones then I would decide between the last two or three I had on which would be the more appropriate answer. I didn’t really prepare for the test because I didn’t study for it. Text time I will study my weakest points in math for 30 minutes every day until the test. I will also work on my strongest points every once in a while just to refresh
ReplyDeleteThe math TAKS we took yesterday was surprisingly pretty easy. I surprised myself a lot by knowing pretty much all of the material on it. I was really focused and determined to be organized and find the correct answer. I feel pretty confident in my performance! There were a few questions that I really wasn’t sure of like the ones with “the Nth term”. I worked out every answer choice but none of them worked so I picked the most reasonable choice. The strategy I mostly used was to work out the problem without even looking at the answer choices and then picking the answer that matched mine. I worked out every single problem except the ones that I automatically knew the answer to. I honestly didn’t prepare myself a lot for the test, but I still remembered and knew what to do with every problem. I didn’t study this past weekend mostly because I had a volleyball tournament AND play rehearsals the whole weekend but I know studying is more important. But I do think I will be just fine because Mrs.Ryon prepared us so greatly for it!
ReplyDeleteI think I did very well. It was very easy to me. I used all of my strategies especially eliminating answer choices. I don’t remember having many problems with any of the questions. I did study during the weekend. There is nothing I could change to help myself on the test.
ReplyDeleteI think that I performed well on the TAKS; I’m pretty confident that I passed. The most difficult concepts for me were questions with fractions and decimals; I got confused as to how to solve them. I know that a problem strategy that I used was eliminating answers and I would make sure my answer was rational. I had forgotten how to work some problems out because we hadn’t done problems like that in a while but, most of it came back to me. I think that if I had reviewed more I would have been more successful in my TAKS test.
ReplyDeleteThis TAKS test wasn’t too hard it was ok. I felt like I did well. The only thing I really had trouble with was some of the fractions. Fractions just make me confused and just crazy. But that I think was my only problem. I did eliminating answers. I tried every answer choose and saw which one is the correct one or the best. I didn’t do much preparation because I wanted to rest before but this weekend I thought about all the things you have said and kept repeating them in my head. I maybe could have gone a little slower and worked out even more of the question.
ReplyDeleteMy performance was good I did really well and I think I got a good grade. There was no concept that I thought gave me the most trouble. One problem solving strategy I used was guess and check. I prepared myself for this test is I completed all of my home work and payed attention in class and got all the notes that I had. I did study a bit over the weekend but not much. There is nothing really that I could have done differently.
ReplyDeleteI felt that math TAKS this year was way less stressful than I thought. Working extra problems and working on my test taking strategies really helped me. I noticed that there were very similar problems on the actual TAKS test than there were on the practice problems. I think that I did fine on the test this year, the hardest part on the test was fraction problems, not all problems but some were harder than others. I prepared a lot for TAKS which made it much easier to answer the questions on the actual test. I noticed that I had to use guess and check a lot as well as eliminating answer choices. Thanks to Mrs. Ryon and working hard, TAKS seemed fairly easy!
ReplyDeleteThe math TAKS was a lot easier than I expected it to be. We learned most of what was on the test and the rest of it was just common sense. I eliminated a lot of answers that looked ridiculous and after that it was really easy to make decisions.
ReplyDeleteI think I did a pretty good job on the max TAKS test. The most difficult concept for me was probability. I did use a problem solving strategy which was eliminating obvious wrong choices. I forgot about the TAKS test over the weekend I didn’t well prepare myself. I did study my notes on Friday in office assistant but that was pretty much all the studying I got in for the TAKS test. I don’t think I could have done anything different on the test. I tried and I think I did pass. Maybe I got commended.
ReplyDeleteThe math TAKS test was hard but not hard because most of the questions we have already learned and the other questions we have not gone over it yet. I think the hardest concept on the math TAKS test was the one question that had a box and a circle in then graph and you had to find the coordinates. The test taking strategies was the process of elimination and guess and check. I didn’t really prepare myself I felt that I was ready to take the math TAKS but I didn’t really prepare myself. No I don’t think that I would have done anything different on the TAKS.
ReplyDeleteI think I performed very well on the TAKS test, the concept that was most difficult for me was remembering the mean, range, mode and median because I would get mixed up with which one goes with each thing! The solving strategies that I use to help me was, guessing and check, looking at the words used in the answer/problem. I prepared myself for the test by not going out over the weekend and studying not going to parties and getting lots sleep. The one thing I think that I could of done different is.. well I don’t think I would of changed anything about it I think I did well.
ReplyDeleteI felt that the Math TAKS test went really well for me! It was so much easier than I thought! I went in taking the test with a positive attitude because I knew that I had done all my homework throughout the year and that I was fully prepared because of all the notes and information we have learned! I also knew that there were going to be some problems that would confuse me. The problems that gave me the most difficulty were the word problems that gave story and you would have to pick the best equation that would help demonstrate that story the best. I also had trouble on a specific problem that had to do with the nth term. To help myself really concentrate on possible answer choices, I eliminated the ones that didn’t relate to what the question was asking. But overall I still feel great about the test! After I finished each problem, I went and re-worked each one twice more, making sure I chose the correct answer.
ReplyDeleteWell I think I did pretty good on the Math TAKS. My most difficult concept was portions. The solving strategy I used to help me solve a problem is I drawled a picture to help me. I prepared myself for the TAKS by going over my notebook to look over things I did not know. I kind of study over the weekend. I could of done different is study more and ask questions if I didn’t know how to do it.
ReplyDeleteI think Math TAKS wasn’t hard but it still was challenging in some problems. Most of my problems were that I would end up with two answers and I couldn’t decide between them. I did use some problem solving strategies, I used eliminate answers. I crossed out the ones I knew didn’t work out. I looked over everything in my journal, just for a review. I looked through most of my journal just from the beginning of the year.
ReplyDeleteI think that I did pretty well, like an 80 to 85. I felt prepared for it and that made me confluent. I didn’t find any problems that where hard but there was one or two that were challenging
ReplyDeleteI think I did ok because I knew most of the questions but some of them I didn’t like one was on proportions and i remember last year I was very good at them but I forgot how to do them. But most of them I knew. A problem solving strategies I used was Draw a Picture and eliminating answer choices. I definitely studied for the math TAKS. I went online and found some TAKS online over the weekend and I answered the questions and checked my answers on the answer keys to! If I could have done anything differently was maybe to go over and check my answers and solve them out again to see if I did everything correctly. `
ReplyDeleteHow do you think you performed? Average.
ReplyDeleteWhat was the most difficult concept for you? Any problem that had fractions.
Did you use any problem solving strategies (ie: guess and check, eliminating answer choices... etc.)? No, or at least, none that I am aware of.
How much did you prepare yourself for this test? Because I did not really know what kind of stuff was going to be on the test, I did not prepare myself enough for me to get commanded.
Did you study this past weekend? Not really.
Is there anything you could have done differently to help you on this test? Yes, gone over fractions/factors.(?)
I felt good about the task test the hard part where the questions that we had beryl work on or had time to work on.
ReplyDeleteLike the whisker blot and some other one but don’t remember the name.
The way I figured them out was to think what wheeze rung with them like a battle strategy.
I studded all week long even on my birthday one time when I was suiting I fell asleep on the floor with my pencil in hand and all my book on the floor near me.
When I first got the TAKS test I thought the problems were really hard but some were not easy but not super hard either. I just had to work out the problems and when I knew I got one right I felt good. I used many strategies like highlighting important information, crossing out answers and information that was not reasonable or needed. I also worked out each answer choice that the question gave me even though I thought it was wrong but, it’s always good to check your answers. When you gave us the packet to work I at least tried to do it but it would have helped me more to do other problems. One of the concepts that I was having trouble with was finding the missing information that was needed in the problem. Also I didn’t understand scientific notation as well as I expected so, this is why it would have helped me to study.
ReplyDeleteThe math TAKS I felt was easier in some parts more than others. During the test I used process of elimination and guess and check. I think the most difficult part was converting yard to furlongs because I have never heard of them or how they are measured I think that’s why I struggled on that one. Over the weekend I looked at the Pythagorean therom sheet gave you me in CAA. If I could do anything over again I think it would be going over my work more than twice. I prepared my self by eating good sleeping and not doing to much to get stressed out.
ReplyDeleteThe math TAKS was easy. I think I performed great. I worked out problems and thought about a lot of problems. Some problems were hard to find the answers and I eventually did. I also took my time. The most difficult concept for me was fractions. I am not the best with fractions. I think I got close to the right answers on them. I did use a problem solving strategy on some problems and that was guessing and checking. I did not study for the test because if I do I always do bad or I feel like I do bad . so I did not study and I think I did good on the TAKS.
